Chain Directionality
Replaced a dead freewheel. Pulled the chain and dropped it in the solvent tank. I did not pay attention to direction/side. I have some crunchiness expected from new rear cogs, but more chainline noise as I get off line.
New chain or oil this one and wait? |
If its Shimano, they are directional and the logos should be on the outside of the chain.
Also, check for any stiff links, especially the link you used to re-attach the chain. You need to re-lube the chain. |

"Replaced a dead freewheel." My policy is to start a fresh chain with new freewheel cogs.

New chain, 100% quiet and smooth shifting. Thanks all for the advice!
