Missing Dura-ace crown race

Yeah, so a friend of mine asked me to sell his older gt saturn team practice frame for him. He told me he thought, however, that the bike shop that swapped the forks between his other saturn team frame lost a peice of the headset in transition. (one for had signatures, and one frame fit, if you care). After some inspection it appears he is missing the crown race. This is a threaded headset, 1" according to a plastic ruler and my eyeball. Is there any possibility of coming across that part or is this headset nothing more big zip-tie holding the fork to the frame now?

With a Dura-Ace headset, the lower cartridge bearing rides between the crown race (or lower head cone housing) and the lower head cup housing. Without the crown race, I suspect: a) your fork will be very, very loose and b) the bearing would start etching a ring in the fork.

I've only seen the entire unit for sale, but your LBS may be able to order (or dig up) just the crown race (although other manufacturer's crown races "might" fit).

yeah there is definitely some scratches on the fork, and there are no lower bearings either. Thanks for the reply.
