Too much tire sealant?
I recently got a hold of some old tubulars wheels, however one of the tubulars seem to be filled with a white gooey substance and when I try to pump it up it won't fill with air. These are presta valves. I'm guessing its filled with tire sealant that has dried up? Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Do I have to mount on new tubular tyres?

How do you know it's filled with something?
Will it not pump up because air won't go into the tube or because it leaves after you pump?
I've seen green and red sealants, but no white. Then again, I have no idea what it would be otherwise.

Sometimes people will try to deflate a sealant filled tire too quickly (and with the valve in a bad position) and so the sealant does it's job and promptly seals the leak (in this case the presta valve). Most tubulars have removable valve cores. Remove the core and see if it's gotten gummed up with sealant. If so, you may be able to clean it up. If not, your LBS should have replacement cores.

Tufo sealant is white. I think the instructions say that it should not be in the tube for more than two months. I infer from that it will dry out in there. I carry it with me to use if I get a puncture. I haven't had to use it yet.

Tire filled with goo, valve doesn't work, I think you already know the answer.

This is the problem with sealant in tubulars, once it dries out the tire is dead. With tubeless you can at least scrap the junk out.

Then I've been riding dead tires for quite some time. As long as you don't let it gum up the valve, you can add more sealant (or just ride without) after what's in there dries. It is a good idea to give the wheels a spin once a week to keep the sealant distributed so it doesn't dry in one lump at the bottom of the tire, but even if it does it shouldn't make the tire unusable.
