8/9sp SRAM RD compatible with SRAM 7sp Grip Shifters?
is this 8/9sp index SRAM X-7 derailleur compatible with a 7speed cassette? Grip shifters on the bike are some cheapo SRAM and derailleur is a Falcon that cant hold onto the highest gear. If not I can always try throwing on a Shimano 7sp Taurus.

If the grip shifters have a number on them, like X7 or ESP3.0 or X-3 or X.5, that should work. Numbered shifters work with SRAM rear derailleurs. If the grip shifters have a name like Attack, etc, then it won't work. Named shifters work with Shimano RD's.
