Seat Rail Camp
I just got Prologo Scratch 2.0 saddle with titanium rails. I'm finding some torque recommendations for the clamp on the internet but they are all over the place. I would imagine this varies with material. Any suggestions?

I'm looking all over the internet for this and max torque is printed right on the underside of the clamp. False alarm.

So the torque limit is clamp dictated and not seat rail controlled? Andy (replying to offer explanation to others)

Of course, the reality is the saddle rail is probably over-built around a worst case, and the seat clamp is probably conservative. Basically, you pick a number a tighten to it and hope nothing breaks. |
gsa103- Of course. My question was for those who thought that koolerb had it right, that seat rails had stated clamping pressures. Sorry I didn't make it more obvious that I knew the answer. I'll add one issue though about rails and clamps. There are different shapes of rails, some are oval, not round, and some are a larger diameter. So there is a concern that a miss match between the rails and the clamp could prove problematic. Additionally some clamps offer greater surface area of their clamping onto the rail. Some rails ask for this, less pin pointed pressure, clamp design. When in doubt ask the shop you bought the parts from if their compatible and/or go directly to the manufacturer. I've seen enough broken rails or slipping seats with miss matched rails and clamps. Andy.

These appear to be standard dia round rails. But I have read that hollow Ti rails need to be treated with a little care so I torqued the bolt to 2/3 max and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It just surprised me a little how little information there seemed to be on the net. No information on the Prologo website from what I could see.
