Location of mid fork braze-on

I want to add mid fork braze-ons onto my mtn bike but so far have come across 2 standards: Tubus says 165mm and Nitto says 180mm. Even tho they don't agree with one another about the location they at least measure from the same point: the rear eyelet. So . . . where do I put them?

The bike is stripped down ready for bead blasting and powder coating and I will be having the braze-ons added between.

Which rack are you going to use?

Neither. I will most likely use a Racktime but haven't decided yet.

Measure the one you get?

And you'll also need to decide if you want a thru-bolt braze-on, or the kind that is just on the outside of the fork. I recommend the through-bolt type, because they are the most flexible. With the single-side, you pretty much have to use a front rack with a hoop.
