Fixing shifter

Hi everyone,
I own a 2010 Surly LHT. The right side handlebar index shifter for the rear derailleur is broken. I wish to replace it with a identical new shifter suitable for touring and commuting that can handle both index and friction shifting. (See images below). I have been hunting the web unsuccessfully for good clear directions (preferably a YouTube video) explaining how to do the repair. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks!

You want an identical shifter? Is the broken shifter one of these? 'Shift Levers Shimano bar end SL-BS77 9-speed' (From surly 2010 catalog http://surlybikes.com/uploads/downlo...ly_Catalog.pdf)
Are you searching for a replacement shifter or for installation directions? (I have no hands-on experience with barend shifters)

Hi Jan,
The shifters you reference sound correct. I am seeking installation directions. That said my LBS wants to sell me Ultegra shifters as a set, which I do not need. So, if you know of single shifters, I would be excited to hear about them.

I don't think you will find just a right side shifter as they are nearly always sold in pairs. Any 9-speed Shimano compatible shifter will do and, if you buy the shifters themselves, the installation instructions will be included. You do read the directions don't you? :)

As a preview, Shimano's Tech documents and owners instruction sheets are available on line at Shimano's web site.
