Madone BB question

Hi All,

I have a 2013 madone 4.5 that I just replaced the crank on. When I took out the old crank I was surprised at how easily the bearings fell out of the frame. When I pulled the drive side of the crank out the bearings came right out and I also poked the other side out when inserting the new bearings. Is this normal? Seems like it should be tighter fitting.

Trek's BB90 implementation is loose enough to change bearings by hand, without a removal punch or bearing press.

I just replaced my BB90 bearings and I had to tap mine out. Mine were tight and went back in tight. They do make some .005 oversize for loose cups.

+1 on the OS bearing suggestion. I have installed quite a number of these OS bearings and they turn a slip in/out into a press in/punch out. Well worth the wait if your LBS has to order them. ARS.
