FSA Omega Crank Removal Help

I'm trying to remove this FSA Omega crank, but I'm having trouble loosening the self-extracting bolt. I thought I was supposed to be turning counterclockwise to remove it, but I'm also confused by the direction on the ring. Can someone tell the correct way to remove this crank?

The markings on the ring refers to how to remove the ring. Self-extracting bolts work the way you think. There's a flange around the bolt head which connects with the underside of the extractor ring and push the crank off. Your problem most likely comes from the mounting torque - 40 Nm, which is quite a lot.

Thank you so much! With some creative leveraging, I was able to remove the crank.

Yeah, self-extractors can fool you the first time you use them. The fixing bolt turns freely for a turn or so and then gets real tight again and new users thing something is wrong. Keep turning it and off comes the crank. BTW, a bit of grease on the underside of the outer ring and on the bolt head makes it easier the next time.
