upgrade bitex 10 speed hub to 11

I bought a pair of chinese carbon tubular wheels. the rear wheel has a shimano compatible bitex hub that can only accommodate up to 10 speed. I've read somewhere that you can convert that to a 11 speed without having to rebuild the wheel, but instead just changing the freewheel hub body to one that's slightly longer. Does anyone know which hub body can be used for this?

You will need to research the freehub if it is compatible with older hubs Bitex : MTB hub,BMX hub,SHOW hub,FOLDING hub,CHILD hub, Wheelchair hub, and if you can get one, freehubs are normally specific to the wheel they were originally designed for, and very few manufactures make replacements for their older freehubs, as the rest of the hubs would normally need replacing due to changes in design. You can run a 11 speed cassette on a normal 10 speed freehub, missing one sprocket, see thsi thread for details https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...-use-only.html

thanks for the tip. I've contacted the vendor to see if they have a solution. I'd much rather get the full 11 speeds. Don't really want to be stuck with a 12t on the end, or any unnecessary gaps in the middle of the cassette

yep looks like they sell the bitex rar12 hub bodies that are 10/11 speed compatible. found only two suppliers though, and they're both overseas. The one in Germany is only $38 shipped, but I don't know if that's international or domestic.

You can buy a compatible (maybe NOT exact same brand) 11-speed freehub body from Bike Hub Store for $40 (www.bikehubstore.com). He has sold both Bitex and other similar hubs and this freehub body fits them all. It takes about two minutes to change out. Just rotate the freehub body as you press the pawls with you finger to get them in. On the wheel I did it, no redishing was necessary and the smallest cog/chain combo did not foul the chainstay. Easy-peasey, lemon squeezy.
