Broke my XTR 952 trigger shifter. Replacement paddle?

It was an unfortunate combination of top tube location, bar location, and shifter position. The bar swung around and snapped off the index finger paddle.

It's a 952 rapid rise, 9 speed rd controller. Anyone know if I can source a replacement paddle from a cheaper model?

I though I'd pick your brains before I fire up my TIG welder and tack on a piece of aluminum.

The lever itself isn't a replaceable part but the entire shifting mechanism can be replaced. It is part Y-6CF98010 and like most older Shimano parts they're easier to find in Europe. You might want to see if you can source a broken shifter that you can pull the part from.
