As long as you're comparing the prices at the same source.

From what I gather from Amazon's rather cursory description, the MG-1 pedals have Cr-Mo steel spindles and sealed bearings while the MG-3 have "boron" steel spindles and make no mention of bearing seals. So, it seems the MG-1 is a bit better even though the prices overlap quite a lot from Amazon's several suppliers.

The MG-3 MG3 - Wellgo (lighter weight)

The MG-1 MG-1 - Wellgo (costs less)

I believe the MG-3 uses plastic bushings instead of bearings. The MG-1 has cartridge ball bearings. If you want longevity, I'd go with the MG-1. I put a set of MG-1s on my vintage MTB commuter about a year ago and no complaints so far.
