Marzocchi Z.2 flex fix?
I have a '98 Marzocchi Z.2 BAM, which I've heard described as a stiff fork with great tracking. It is a rim brake model. I have noticed though, that it washes out on downhill corners. I can stand in front of the bike, clamping the wheel between my knees, and twist the bars probably 10 degrees. The wheel doesn't appear to twist, only the fork. I am using a steel XT skewer. Does this just need its bolts torqued, new bushings, or maybe something else? Thanks.

Be realistic; you have a fork which is pushing 20 years old, time have moved on, what was considered stiff back in '98 isn't now.
If there was an issue with the bushing/bolt torque, you would notice these riding a straight line.
If you want stiff get a 2015 fork with a thru axle wheel, or live with the retro fork you have, and it's limitations

I know what I have is not modern, but neither is it working as intended, so I'd like to fix it as opposed to throwing it away. I'm not sure I can find a new fork with short enough travel to suit the frame, which is a 1994 Stumpy FS-R. I am not interested in buying a new front fork, caliper, rotor, brake lever and wheel.

You have suggesting the disposal of the for, not what I said; what I did say, was time have moved on, your fork will be perfectly rideable ( I have a 2001 Z3's in use, and hopefully will be for may years), but they aren't as stiff as a current fork, and have to be ridden with that in mind.
You haven't said if the fork has suddenly become less stiff, of it has been like it for a long time; have you tried re-building the fork? they aren't hard to do.
There are a couple of options you could look at for stiffening fork, try locating a brake booster, will be hard to find now, but there are some around V Brake Booster | eBay also, try a non-qr (bolt/hex) skewer, a bolt thru may stiffen the front a little,
