Noob ****** questions.
OKAY... So I got this bike a few years back (Like 8 ish) And used to ride the crap out of it. It isn't meant for flatland or the skate park, But I would Like to convert it. It is a Redline Expert Xl With everything stock. I currently cant afford to build or buy a new cult or something. If I got some new bars and maybe bottom bracket, Would I be able to ride Flatland? I am just a little worried about snapping the frame. I weigh 108 Pounds and am unsure about how hard it is to snap a frame. Also, it currently has a threaded bottom bracket that I am pretty sure is overly worn out. Can anyone recommend any replacements that would fit? Thanks. Sorry for being a noob.

There's no reason why you can't ride flatland, some of the best riders I've seen didn't use freestyle bikes. And I doubt you weigh enough to do any serious damage, there's guys 2x your weight doing it, and it's all in how you land and absorb the shock.
It's tough to say with the bottom bracket. How is it worn out? If it feels loose what you might just need to replace is the bearings. You might need a special tool to get it out to replace them if it's a redline 3 piece crank. I would go to your local bike shop and ask about it. |
