it is named after the skateboard trick. it is just a name. like a 50-50 grind, feeble grind, smith grind, crooked grind, and kickflips.all skateboard tricks. there are more names, but i can't think of them.

There are tons of names pulled from skateboarding because there has been such a heavy influence on technical tricks in bmx from skateboarding. We are bretherin who are fighting the man for our right to simply partake in the sports we love. The goals are similar, the cause is similar, yet immature fools will continue to segregate on the basis of stupidity and fear.

Step up, the skaters should be with us, and us with them. There will always be times when we don't see eye-to-eye, but with so much similar between us, and so much to gain by presenting a united, unrivalristic front, we look that much better when pleading our case in front of others. Build more parks, we can all ride it at the same time, we all belong on it, we all should be on it. The city spends tens of thousands on unused tennis courts and baseball fields, yet won't drop one cent on parks for alternative sports.

Sucks.

Half-cab - props to an incredible athelete who inspired forward thinking through creativity in the world of bmx. It is a fakie to 180 bunnyhop out - sounds like a half-cab to me.

Finding open land for parks and such is tough in some areas, development is tough in other areas - but the Japanese have some of the worlds best flatlanders and have magazines dedicated to flatland. Ares Bikes deals almost exclusively with flatland and the rider list is long for some of the best in the world being asian flatlanders.

Since I'm not tied closely to street/dirt/vert/racing - I am not aware of any in those areas, but expect there are a few. More likely you would see them at 'The Worlds' instead of some no-money competition in the states, or trying to make the X-Games.

BMXers generally lose a lot of money instead of earn any.

the best way is to ride them ALOT. Eventually they'll be so worn in and packed down they'll get really hard and rock-looking
