Wow, you're extreme - You really need to be looking to part up a custom bike for that type of serious riding. Get a T1, because they are hardcore, then make sure to throw some Primo 3-piece cranks on there. Dope. You will want a Profile cassette hub going to some good black rims with 24/9 gearing. Then a decent set of Industry brakes to make sure you stop good.

Make sure not to put a gyro on though, they suck.

......

or - just read the 40 other posts about buying a bike on the site already.

Round 1 of The Ignorant Vs The Intolerant goes to BMXTRIX for his less than subtle sarcastic approach.

Seriously though, go search the other threads and do some reading first. What's your budget, and are you ever going to progress beyond your hardcore skill set? FoOr what you're doing now, you could get one of those Barbie bikes from Kmart. Chicks dig 'em!

I recently posted this on an audio forum where someone called one of my sarcastic responses harsh when they asked "What (component that has been asked about 10,000 times already) would be best for ME?"

My post: "I don't like helping to much for those who seem to lazy to even spend a couple hours reading and doing a little searching and googling if need be. First impressions go both ways. Sorry if you thought my reply was harsh - I thought the question was insensitive and very lazy to those who spent so much time and effort making such a wonderful website for you to read and who have such fantastic articles"

Granted, this site doesn't have fantastic articles, but there are a bunch of posts already... I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like seeing the "which bike is best for me" thread come up every 3 days.

Really though, I tried to restrain myself from how irritated I am by the post even being here. I do like the: "I looked at the other posts about bikes and I think I have narrowed it down to a (bike name), (bike name), or a (bike name) - I'm 14 and have not ONE penny more than $300.00 to spend - which one do you think is best for me considering I will be doing this type of riding... etc., etc." Those posts will give that person very valuable insight and information - the post above will just get him crap.

He needs a custom built Standard - exactly like queensrider86's bike. Down to the same type of spokes. Then he will truly be able to do wheelies.

Still - just forums and not trying to discourage - riding is fun and I was a clueless newbie once myself. Fortunately, we didn't have an Internet then so everyone in the world didn't know how clueless I was... Just some of the best of that day and age.

No apology needed. It's like posting a question about MTB gear without going to MTBreviews.com.

sorry bmxtrix, your right, i can see people asking questions like the tire thread because that one doesnt come up very often but on a bmx forum people should have a little more common sense and think before they ask such a generic question as "which bike should i get". by the way queensrider, happy birthday to you to?

yup. maybe we should make a new thread that is called "im a newb and i dont know what kind of bike to buy and cant use the search button so help me" and make it a sticky thread so it stays at the top of the page so that all the new kids can use it...
