i have a dk step up and its 34 pounds. is that to heavy to be doing anything? because im used to a 30 pound bike and when i got the step up i sucked because it feels so heavy. so does anyone have a heavier bike than 34 pounds and can still do good on it???

as far as i have seen, its possible to bust insane stuff on pretty much anything. for me, 34 would be a little on the heavy side, but i have a friend who swears blind his bike is 36 or above(i cant really remember), and he can still do soe stuff on it. it pretty much just depends on the rider.

34 pounds is not at all heavy. I used to ride a bike that weighed more than 45 pounds, and I never complained about it. Just ride your damn bike.

i was playing step-up and this kid was complaining that his bike was too heavy and couldnt clear it, yea i cleared it on his bike.

it doesnt matter, you can still do whatever you want on a heavy bike.

Yeah i have a PACIFIC! and its like 40 pounds and i dont think its all that heavy BUT if your used to a lighter one then thats probably whats wrong with you cus if i got a heavier bike i wouldnt be able to lift it

so are bmx frames all made of steal? my mtb barely busted 20 stock, so for a bike with no suspension, 20" tires, and is the same size as a kids bike, why do they weigh so much?

I think the weight does not matter too much, depending on your strengh. The heavier the bike the harder you have to pull to get it up in the air. Im quite skinny and find it hard to lift my 34 pound haro 540 up as high as I want, so Im doing loads of pushups and sit ups to get stronger

Also I have a MTB jump bike thats much lighter due to being alu. I cant bunny hop it as high as the bmx , im guessing due to its size!

There was a kid on here insisting that he saw a video of a guy doing wheelies on a tandem. I've seen the clip, and it was actually nose wheelies in San Franciso. There's a link to it around here somewhere.

No, they're 203mm Shimano XTs. (Same thing) We had custom Ti ones to match the rest of the bike, but they sucked. In the attached photo, you can see the scoring and chatter marks. The lasted about 220km.

Watch out bunnyhopping with clipless pedals. I'm sort of also in the fixed gear community and those guys sometimes ride clipless, but I run old-style toe clips 'cause the danger of popping out is pretty high if you throw it into a skid or try to bunnyhop it.

Carbon cranks for BMX? Don't forget they're ruined the first time you lay the bike down.

skidding on a fix in clipless won't make you pop out. i run toe clips too.

and as far as ruining the carbon cranks.... DUDE!!! no way! they've got mega EXO bottom bracket technology! the bearings are on the outside!!! how could that ever fail!?
