Flatlanders- I need advice on parts

I am going to be putting together a new bike,
WeThePeople Sinus AM Series.
Since I have been saving up for this for a while I want to customize it as much as possible.
Any suggestions for good forks, bars pedals pegs etc. would be appreciated.

how much money do you want to spend and do you want zero offset on the forks/stem/bars?

one of the cool things about custom bikes is the rider(that's YOU) picks out what they like. so go to flatland fuel and see what looks good. they don't sell junk so no worries there.

also, www.pedalbmx.com is where all the flat riders hang out. go to the forums there for more advice. bmxtrix should be popping up 'round here soon as well with great advice.....

It depends heavily on several factors...how big you are, what you intend to use the bike for (strictly flat or a mix of flat and street or whatever) and also a little bit on your level of experience. Obviously someone just getting into flatland isn't necessarily going to benefit from the latest and greatest $bling$ money can buy, there are places you can save your money and places it's appropriate to splurge. There are parts I drool over but know they aren't necessary so I spend my money on stuff that matters.

Have you ridden a Sinus AM before? Do you know people who have? Unfortunately flatlanders are rare enough that most of us don't always have the benefit of trying out stuff before we order it from Pat, but if you can, talk to people or check out product reviews (not always the best source of information, but it's something). I'll be checking out that www.pedalbmx.com site myself, it actually looks populated by people with typing skills. So...score one for them.

I would say, that if you haven't been riding a while, then you really need to figure out what you want to do with your money and what your budget is. There are excellent complete bikes that will get you riding for a bargain, then you can upgrade stuff as you need.

A killer complete flatland bike is going to run over $1,000 and that's why it is hard to recommend parts if you don't have that to spend.

1. Fork: Odyssey Flatland. This fork is killer with a great warranty and excellent design.
2. Pedals: KHE Stimulator - Nylon lasts forever when you don't grind them and they grip really well but won't kill your shins should... or more accurately, WHEN they hit you in the leg.
3. Cranks: Profile Elite flatland. Nothing better on the face of the earth. More realistic? Regular Profiles or Odyssey. Either way, 3-piece cranks will set you back some coinage if you want some decent quality.
4. Wheelset - Pick one from the Flatland Fuel website and make sure it has a Nankai freecoaster and chrome plated rims. That's it. The HB Momentums look great... Just a couple hundred right?
5. Pegs are personal preference. If they are on flatland fuel and they look good to you, they are fine. I personally like the Arestic Sirencers.

It adds up quick and if you don't have any components to move over from another bike, you will hit $1K before you know it. Good luck!
