Chain tension variable bmx redline

hello everyone,
I was adjusting my son's bmx and noticed that in a certain position of the pedals the chain is more tense than usual. the rear wheel is aligned and when i turn the pedals i don't see anything that is off center? roller bearings are also ok. what could this be? Thx

Either the chainring or the freewheel / cog is very slightly off-center. It might not be something you can correct, you may just need to run the chain slightly looser.

Try readjusting the chainring first, that's usually the only thing that you can adjust at all.

9 times out of 10 I get that on bikes with either very worn or very cheap freewheels.

Worn chainring, freewheel, or oval chainring (aftermarket?)?
