I own a calibrated torque wrench. I don't think I've ever broken a part.

Snazzy, pass me some popcorn, unless it's salted. Oh, down under "Root" has another meaning.

FireTeamCharlie 08-08-05 01:28 AM

I wonder what it means :-/

hypersnazz 08-08-05 01:34 AM

I'm guessing it doesn't have anything to do with Unix and its derivatives.

They don't have proper rootbeer here. Every beer is a root beer. Have a beer, you want a root.

FireTeamCharlie 08-08-05 01:46 AM

Well thats not as bas as I thought it was.

Brian 08-08-05 02:24 AM

You don't get it.

I crank the **** out of my bars, fork, wheels, sprocket bolt, seatpost clamp, bar ends, and my pedals

Yeah, me too(not bar ends though). I should have given a little more thought to what I said before.

FireTeamCharlie 08-08-05 06:34 PM

You get your stem yet?

I just got it this morning. It was pretty confusing to put on at first, but after I put it on and off about 3 times I got it down(first I put the bars on backwards, then I forget my gyro plate, then last I forgot to tighten the compression bolt). Now I just realized that I put it on upside down, I guess it doesn't matter, except that the cool Odyssey symbol doesn't show.

After I put it on right, I rode it outside a bit(manuals, 180s, 360 tail tap), and it was working fine, no slipping creaking or anything. I was just about to go ride some street, bu then it started to rain!!!

I'll try and get some pics of it up within the next few days.

FuzzyRyder 08-11-05 12:25 PM

sweet sound like its workin out good, i guess you will really find out when u give it a few hits from bailing

bmxrdr88 08-11-05 04:57 PM

you guys are acting like a bunch of immature little kids.

bmxrdr88 08-11-05 05:00 PM

but its fun to see what happens next, so continue.

Oh yeah, like anyone has ever seen the error of their ways and repented whenever someone says *that*.

I AM 100% SORY FOR NOT BELEIVING YOU GUYS! I NEVER should have trusted the reviews I read about it in Ride BMX, or on-line. It slips every time you land a little hard or bail and have your bars hit the ground. It's the BIGGEST PIECE OF **** EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rode it today for about 4 hours and it sliped about 5 times. Right when I got home I called Dans and told them to exchange the Odyssey POS for a S&M Redneck GFR Lite(a reliable stem).

Again, Sory for not beleiving you guys.

I still ahve to give props to Odyssey for they're inovation in stem design, but it should have been tested a bit more. Odyssey still makes the greatest forks and bars though(Odyssey Pro Dirt and the Odyssey Jim Cilencki(how do you spell his name???).

Brian 08-12-05 08:00 PM

Return it and get a dictionary, or spell-check software.

Are you talking about the Redneck stem? Or are you making fun of me for not beleiving you guys about the Odyssey stem?

hypersnazz 08-13-05 11:18 PM

Odyssey's CFN (ChockFullaNuts) is pretty bomber, cool idea too. Sometimes Odyssey screws up (dare I say 'Pit Bull'? I dare!) but usually they hit the mark pretty good.

Brian 08-13-05 11:54 PM

CFN was some good coffee too, back in the days before Starbucks. My mum loved that stuff.

baktrailbiker91 08-14-05 01:41 PM

at least there inovative and try to 'shake things up a bit'
