hey how good are the pure rubber inner tubes for bmx bikes

gingerbreadman 08-15-05 05:01 PM

if any one can help me with this it would be great

KinetikBiker 08-15-05 05:28 PM

what do you mean...?

gingerbreadman 08-15-05 05:49 PM

well i was hearing from some other people that when you ride dirt with them that they like to pop the tire sides out when you land heavy stunts

CMcMahon 08-15-05 06:16 PM

If you're referring to solid rubber inner tubes, they're the stupidest idea in the history of BMX, except - maybe - for one-legged forks, shocks, and multiple gears.

A one legged BMX fork? WTF was that person smoking.

DCdense 88 08-15-05 10:25 PM

lol...i just went to my LBS...and they had a Cannondale trailer there..and they gave like free test rides..and i asked why they had one legged forks on them///and he said that on a mountain bike the fork twists because of the shocks so the one fork helps to stabblize it..and also they make them in an octagon shape instead of a circlular shape for less twist

bmxrdr88 08-16-05 05:55 PM

solid tubes can bend your rims. they aren't good unless your a little kid.

gingerbreadman 08-16-05 07:50 PM

yeah im just tired of flats and that slime **** dont work worth a **** and dont know what else to do

gingerbreadman 08-16-05 07:51 PM

ill be back in a sec i have to run to the kitchen real quick

BMXTRIX 08-16-05 11:36 PM

New tires + proper tube inflation = much fewer flats.

Flats are a part of life, especially in park/street riding. But, they shouldn't be in dirt unless you are landing on well packed lips a LOT. I go to contests and in a full day of riding not one dirt guy will bust a tube.

Street guys? Sure, they always are clipping coping on reentry.

If your tubes are popping, you need to get the air pressure up some and move over to some better tires that are designed to keep crap out and your tire rolling smooth.

The Cannondale Lefty fork can't be compared to the Kastan one legged blunder. See below.

I was actually considering a Nexus 7 speed hub for my wife's cruiser. She'd probably like the gears, and then I'd have a stealth BMX to sneak up on roadies and MTBs, like Fireteamchuck does in his dreams.

Thorn proof tubes. Double rim strips on the rim AND inbetween the tire and tube, and your set.

gingerbreadman 08-17-05 03:18 PM
