Double butted spokes actually build a stronger wheel than straight guage, despite the spokes being thinner. And they're lighter. But they're not as cheap. Classic example of Bontrager's Law.

That's why I asked if that would have been a better question. I forgot that it's mostly kids on here that wouldn't know the difference.
