Wheels aren't sealed, hubs are. Any 48 hole hoop laced to a hub with properly tensioned and stress relieved spokes will be heaps stronger than your plastic wheel. It's all in the landings.

I should have said wheel set. It was implied.

Any decent 48 hole wheelset is plenty strong. They'll outlast your frame by a long time.

Does anyone even make unsealed hubs anymore? And you don't even need a 48; 36s are plenty strong.

I meant aftermarket parts; you don't buy the stock hubs off a Haro F1.

I can't seem to find a stem I like. I'd like a rather long one, with some rise to it....

A long stem on a BMX is just a lever for breaking things.

Give up, Ex. He obviously doesn't want to use the proper tool for the job (in this particular instance, a chromoly frame with a long enough toptube so as not to require a ridiculously long stem), and is just making himself look like an ass in the process.

You're right. He's probably not even going to use carbon fibre headset spacers.

You've come here for honest advice, you don't like it. What should we do?

You ask someone that's pretty much an expert on this, he gave you an honest answer, but you don't like his answer. Where are the insults?
