Looking for a new Gyro.
 

I'm going to replace the crappy, warped SST Oryg my bike came with. There isn't much to choose from I either go with another SST, the Odyssey Gyro or the Snafu Mobeus Detangler. I know the Odyssey Gyro is really good, but I havn't heard anything about the Snafu Detangler. Does anyone out there know if its any good?

First off there is a few more chocies than you think, but the odyssey is pretty good if you do get the oddy go with there higher model.

The Odyssey GTX and GTX-R are the only real options. I've heard mixed reviews about the Snafu Mobeus, and the older-style SST and Odyssey gyros are pretty much obsolete (especially due to their sharp edges).

I personally don't like the GTX and GTX-R gyros. I don't like how the rubber seals fall off, leaving the bearings exposed (why make a 'sealed' gyro if it becomes unsealed in the first week of use?) and I don't like how the pinch bolts work on them. I'd rather use a normal cheap gyro and Knarps.

however, I don't think normal gyros fit over internal headsets. I could be wrong though...

I know that the GTX and GTX-R fit over S&M/Fit, FBM/The Take, and Fly internal headtubes.

it doesnt matter what u get they will still work like crap gyro brakes. get a staight cable setup.

That's not at all true. If you actually know what you're doing (and there are plenty of people that do, in fact, know what they're doing), you can very easily make a setup with a gyro feel just as good as a one with a straight cable.

Yeh I have the same thing here, my gyro is just as good as any straight out there.

That's good to know. A while back, some clown was complaining about how bad his brakes were, and he actually wanted to but discs on his BMX. How lame is that?!

dude just pick the one that first comes to your head and is a trusted brand with alot of respect.........if it looks good and performs good get it.........just get an odyssey gyro

Pretty damn lame I'm just waitin for parts to be shipped. And I wasnt complaining about my brakes I was just saying I wanted new ones for doing some **** ass stuff in downhill and dirt.

why would you use a bmx for downhill? and disk brakes are too touchy for dirt in my opinion.

Both.

Yes. For starters, it won't have any sharp edges.
