DK Cleveland vs Eastern Shovelhead
ok around me we dont have such a big selection of bikes. So ive finally come down to two bikes. Ive done some reading and i would like just to hear some suggestions on what you think about these two bikes. I am 5'9 180 pounds. I ride street/flatland. Here are the two bikes. 1 Dk Cleveland 2006 2 Eastern Shovelhead 2006

I would go with the DK because it has 100% cromoly frame and fork. The Eastern only has the top and down tube chromoly. So if i were you i would go with the DK

Props to BMXZ. I didn't check the spec, but at your weight, get the full cro-mo frame.

are you big on flatland, cause neither of those bikes are designed for it.
If your more about street, here are some pros & cons
Eastern: full chromoly fork, 33-12 gearing, intergraded headset, 3pc cranks, only 29lbs
DK:100% cromoly frame and fork, pretty good bars, 3pc cranks
even though the eastern has better parts on it, i would go w/ the DK just beacause of the frame. I say this beacause eventually your going to get rid of and upgrade parts. its your choice though

No i am not big into flat land. Just some messing around i do. I also notice that the Dk frame was stronger just not sure how big of a role it would play in this. Thanks for the post. Ill have to check out the Dk see if i can find someone with one in person.

if your local bike shop has some dk's in stock than just ask to ride them around a little. Even if the bikes not the cleveland it should give you the feel of the bike.

You used to ride a Standard, but you can't remember what model it was? As usual, I feel the need to call BS.
In the last ten years, they've only had so many frames: Shorty, Lengthy, Tao, Shaman, Trailboss (OG), 125/125R, TRLS250/TRLS250S/TRLS250L, STA500/STA Mk. IV, Cassius, and the Bullitt. And I find it incredibly hard to believe that someone willing to drop the cash for Standard couldn't even remember what frame it was that he owned.

six pack is a good bike if u jst wanna ride to have fun and eventually when u get more serious u can upgrade........its meant for park and trails so you can ride anything....the only downside to it i think are the rims and bars....but those dont matter if ur a beginner cuz ur jst learning so u dont need slam bars or double walls...........just pick the bike at the rite price for u....dont spend alot if ur not gonna wanna keep goin and excelling

hmm ill have to check out that haro and compare it to the dk. I think im going to get the cleveland only because i can get it for 20 more dollars than the six pack ( gift card) so i might as well get the better parts. But ill have to check out that haro .
