Sure. I don't know exactly how blueschist gets to the surface, since it requires low heat but incredibly high pressures to form.

I got something for you! If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally ********, and she had syphilis. Would you recommend that she have an abortion? |
If you answered yes, you just killed Beethoven.

How about....
It is time to elect a new world leader, and your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates: Candidate A: Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologers. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8-10 martinis a day. Candidate B: He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whisky every evening. Candidate C: He's a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and hasn't had any extramarital affairs. Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt Candidate B is Winston Churchill Candidate C is Adolph Hitler Hahaha, google search tricky questions. |
Ugh.. those are way too popular forwarded emails.

Not really, seeing as how plenty of metamorphic rocks (ex: serpentinite) come from the bottom of the ocean, specifically at divergent plate boundaries. The problem with your theory was that, while the heat there isn't too strong, there isn't nearly enough pressure to metamorph a slate into blueschist; of course, that's just one of the many reasons that you were wrong.

You'd think that if you knew how to use a camera like that, you'd be able to figure out how to rotate the pictures so that everyone doesn't have to turn their head 90 degrees to look at them.
|
Plus resize them a little bigger/link to the bigger versions. The thumbnails look pretty good though.
Beerman, do you think you'd be able to get a DSLR? You could probably find a used Rebel body only for about $400, plus maybe $200 for a flash and the 50mm 1.8 prime is a really good lens for the price ($80) |
Is there anyone here like me...
You know, steals your parents camera and has too run like hell and then once you get to the trails you have to take the picture when the person is still pedaling towards the jump to get them on the LAST set... |

That'd be nice. Just curious, any particular reason for going with Nikon? I've heard the wide glass is better than Canon's, but as far as wide zooms go, the Canon 10-22 is supposed to be amazing.
Any ideas for which lenses you'd be getting? |
I prefer the feel of the Nikon, I have experience with D100s and D70Ses, and, frankly, I'm of the opinion that Nikon is the sh1t.
As for lenses, I'm not sure as to what I'd be buying; I just know that I could get one hell of a nice fisheye if they tripled my income, like they should. |

Well, here's a picture, even if it's crappy. It's hard to shoot yourself with a self-timer, and it's hard to get a good picture when you're shooting at ISO 1600 and f/2.5, 1/30th and it's still too dark.

keep the photos coming!

http://jonbuder.com/temp/footjam.jpg Its a footjam right? Or is it like some other thing, becuase it looks like your hands are off a bit... |
Thanks, yeah it's just a footjam. I usually open my hands up when I do it, partly because it seems like if I keep them closed I keep leaning forward and go over. I'll try to get a picture of me in the middle of a no footed (1 footed maybe?) footjam, even though I can't ride out so it's kind of cheating.
|
I finally got an external flash - it's a Sunpak 555. Haven't gotten any good riding pictures yet, but here's one from today..
http://jonbuder.com/images/IMG_8021.jpg Hopefully I can shoot some riders that are better than my friend and I soon... heh |
Seriously now, you may be able to take a photo of someone doing something, but that doesn't necessarily make it worthy of having a photo taken.
