Steel frames flex a little. It's better than just snapping, isn't it?

I don't remember ever noticing my Stricker (or my LAF, for that matter) flexing; it always felt like a pretty solid frame.

I went from riding a 6.5lb Barcode to a 5.5lb frame, I wouldn't say it felt flexier, snappier would be more accurate, if that makes sense. It's actually a pretty nice feeling.

No, it never felt weak. Seriously, just look at the way Stricker rides; the frame is solid.

Not being a weight weenie, I bought a heavy (almost 7 lbs) '05 Redline Mega-XL on purpose. No flex, no worries.

I weigh 220. If I was only 120, weight MIGHT matter then...

The extra 1.25 lbs isn't a big deal to me...in fact, I prefer a little heavier frame. I like the F/R weight distribution on my bike too.

True, but if you were buying a frame, why did you get a Redline frame, if you wanted a heaveir frame you could have gotten a S&M Black bike for instance, or a Macneil, there a little on the "heavy" side, at leats compared to other frames out now...

A lot of guys around my age remember when Redline was good. If they were junk back then, my brother wouldn't have bothered to steal two when he worked there.

Haha

I'm suprised their cranks aren't any good, considering they invented the 3pc cranks...

I believe.

How can you go from being the inventors of 3pc cranks, to being bashed as a company on a forum?

What was the trigger, or when was their demise?

I think the owner's sons were too busy doing drugs or shooting people to take over the company. So he just sold it and it went downhill. Seriously.

My frame is scary flexy. it moves literally 'n inch or two when I put alot of weight on one crank side, like a noodle.

Thats probly because if your frame is the one pictured on your avatar, its like half carbon fiber, which is scary.

I would feel safer on an aluminium K-Mart frame.
