Making the switch..

Ive been riding mountain bikes for street/dirt for a while now and ive come to the conclusion that i must be high....So im making the switch back over to the bmx world and a lot of things have changed in the 6 years ive been gone. I am looking at the eastern jane bike and i guess im asking what your opinions are on eastern.

and a pic of what i was riding before....yeah i know....must of been high

The Jane should be good, it has good components and the frame shouldn't be bad. I was actually going to buy one about a month ago, but the dealer told me Eastern was sold out of that and the Ace of Spades. If you get it from Dans Comp they should have it in stock, though.

I ended up getting a Specialized that cost a little less than the Eastern, but either way I know if I stick with it I'll want to replace all of the parts eventually.

Nice azonic...I think if i would of kept my steelhead i would stiill be feeling the mountain scene but the smaller bike just made me want something smaller/lighter/more flickable. Now i kick myself for selling my old standard sta that bike took some abuse.

I heard that Chris Moeller and someone from the MTB industry made a frame at S&M under the name 'BLK MRKT'...

Are those any good, or popular?

MadMan2k 06-03-06 07:20 PM

Black markets were supposed to be pretty good. I haven't kept up with MTB stuff lately though, they might have all developed a fatal flaw and exploded during use, killing the rider and bystanders for all I know.

premiumbmx2005 06-03-06 10:24 PM

it will most likely be fine. It seems like a nice, strong frame with nice, strong parts.

wethepeople 06-04-06 12:20 AM

Also, thats a helluva steep headangle on your current bike.

horrible

wethepeople 06-08-06 08:29 PM

How so?

lunchbox 06-08-06 10:42 PM

new bars, new cranks and just rear brakes with a straight cable.

wethepeople 06-08-06 11:19 PM

These are $200 bars/stem.

I've gotten new cranks since the photo.

Its also used for trailriding, so the front brake stays on.

KinetikBiker 06-09-06 07:01 AM

I dont know much about MTB's but that one looks pretty cool.
Haha.

you mean trialriding

MadMan2k 06-10-06 12:24 PM

No... mountain bike trails that are on actual mountains are pretty unsafe to ride with only a rear brake. Even around here, where it's relatively flat (maybe you lose 3-400ft elevation on the longer downhill parts).
