primo balance

I'm looking into getting the Primo Balance Cassete from danscomp, and was just wondering what everyone thought of the wheel. Anyone have it, rode on it, or know someone who has it? What do you think?

premiumbmx2005 07-21-06 03:41 PM

my friend had a balance as a back wheel for a while and it held up fine even w/ his sketchy as all hell backflips.

My friend hated them. '100% terrible' he said.

But that's just what he said...

It'll be the same as any other product, some people love it, some people hate it.

FuzzyRyder 07-21-06 06:12 PM

My buddy has one, he likes it alot... I hate it...

FitRider 921 07-21-06 10:00 PM

Why do you hate it Fuzzy? You don't like the cassette or the rim, or both?

FuzzyRyder 07-21-06 11:34 PM

acctually I don't know about the cassette because my buddy has just the rim, but I'm not sure why, I just dont really like it, maybe its just the way it looks, but I'm not really a primo fan ither.

FuzzyRyder 07-21-06 11:35 PM

Personaly Id go wth something else, like a hazard light complete wheel or something, Id say thats better.

FitRider 921 07-21-06 11:44 PM

You don't like the rim because of the way it looks? That's pretty odd. I want to get a better cassette than the hazard, and I'd rather run a smaller gearing.

FuzzyRyder 07-22-06 12:46 AM

Whats wrong with the ody cassette?

KinetikBiker 07-22-06 09:07 PM

Ive heard good things about the older Primo cassettes. I dont know about the new ones.

But im assuming they are good.

Whats your problem with Odyssey? They seem to be good, cheap and i like the click too!
Haha.

premiumbmx2005 07-22-06 10:40 PM

my friend ****s up his ody. cassette all the time

FitRider 921 07-22-06 10:48 PM

I don't have anything against odyssey. I actually like odyssey, I would just rather get a better and higher quality rim and hub. I also want a 25 tooth sprocket, which the hazard hub will not allow.

FuzzyRyder 07-22-06 11:39 PM

Acctually the hazzard will alow it, just get the upgrade for the one piece driver, it's still cheaper then the primo cassette. And I think that the hazzard light is better quality then the primo rim. I'd rather have a hula hoop over the balance too. And premium, does your friend take care of his hub and clean it and re-grease it and make sure its all good everyonce and a while? I know about 6 or 7 riders with that hub and none of them have ever had a problem with it.

eightdip 07-23-06 04:21 AM

id still stick to a profile although does anyone know whether the new proper cassette hubs are good?

The smallest gearing possible with that would be 28-10.. and the hub is still a lot better on the Primo.

Pain4Pleasure 07-23-06 01:15 PM

no they make a one peice driver with a 9 tooth cog, black out is the brand, and it seems alright, the hazzard is a really nice hub, my friends have taken care of theres and have had no problems, the primo hub tho is probably better idk

FuzzyRyder 07-23-06 05:14 PM

yeah, you can get 9t for the hazzard. I guess it's your choice though. I'm just not a primo fan...

That's $50. By the time you get the wheel and the driver, it already costs more than the Primo wheel. So I guess for me, it's better to get the Primo wheel.
