Brake remedys
what is the best brake remedy for nice tacky locking up power, i have chrome rims but like i like the loudass brakes. But my friend has black rims with oddy 1by4 pads and they do not even stop him a bit, i mean he would be better with flintstones brakes...

SimpleGreen (SP)

If you're want a black rim with chrome stopping power get the odyssey duralectra rim. Those are black and stop just as well. If you don't want to spend that much, just get some better pads, like kool stops (salmon if possible) and keep your rim surface clean with something like simple green.

Simple Green, sanding your rims, new brake pads.
IVe been experimenting with Spray Adhesive (its like spray paint glue) it works well for about 2 days, then it wears off, simple green and good tacky brake shoes like Odyssey 1x4's work well. |
1. Sand pads
2. go to www.bikeguide.com and look for Simple Green & use it properly... 3. place pads close to rim. OR put a bit of Coke on your rims, just put some of your finger and rub it all around your rim....they will "squeel like a goose but stop like no ones buisness" or something like that. |
Kool stop salmon pads + Simple Green = No no

Yeah...bike guide lists a lot of them on there.....whcih is why I told him to go there sintead of listing them out myself....

Isn't it bikeguide.org and not .com?
