want to be featured on a site?
I'm not trying to promote my website here, so sorry if this post offends...
What I AM trying to do is populate my extreme sports site with more pics. Rather than ripping off other peoples sites pictures, I figured I'd look for volunteers who would like to be featured on the site....
if you're cool with it and have some pics of yourself you'd like me to post up, just shoot me a PM and I'll give you an email address to send it (them) too. I'd be happy to give you major props and if you want me to link to a site or something I defianetly will.
I'm still trying to decide how I want to categorize the pics though (either by riders name, trick type, terrain type, or just sport type).

Aside from the fact that there's still a ton of people that use IE, and the fact that you should be using CSS for most everything... the page still looks like it was made in 1997 and is that nasty mint green.

Interesting points you make Beerman, MSIE has to be the biggest piece of garbage for rendering W3 compliant pages I've ever seen. CSS can't even begin to be W3 compliant as it renders differently on every browser. The MOST efficent way to do page construction is a format that renders acceptably in all browsers, not perfectly in one while forsaking all others or by loading up on java script browser detectors and to render beautifuly in all browsers on all platforms.
To this end, OP was looking for people to participate in being recognized on his site, not critisize it. Unfortunalty... er, make that fortunatly, not everyone is as perfect as you.
Yes, a lot of people do still use MSIE... mostly the un-enlightened.

Sorry, but when you're site looks like that, can you honestly expect people to want to be recognized on it? Not to mention, I can't think of a single rider that I know that would want to be featured on an all around "extreme sports" (which is a ridiculous term coined by the media for advertising/hype purposes) website.
And, for the record, even though IE is a piece of crap (hopefully, although I doubt it, IE 7 will be better), it doesn't change the fact that his page is hardly standards compliant, nor does it change the fact that CSS is the best way to go for doing things that can't be made through standards-compliant HTML.

Standards compliant (in this case W3C compliant) does not mean it has to render the same in all browsers (at least not yet). The W3C decides what the standard should be and then developers decided whether they are going to implement it or not (which does not change the fact that it is the standard). This is why IE is a piece of **** browser (cuz it has little support for proper CSS and XHTML).
Tables (as used in this case) were the only alternative years ago when it came to column design. Today you can literally in 5 minutes achieve the look of the aforementioned website with the simple use of CSS and XHTML, and it's going to look nicer, load faster, and be much much more user friendy (and design-change friendly), not to mention when search engines look at it they will actually understand what the page is about.
And yes you can achieve almost the same look on almost all browsers using CSS and XHTML, it takes a little more effort but it does work. And no JavaScript is not a good idea today when a lot of people have it turned off, php is what people actually use.
If you want to learn something more you can look at sites like www.alistapart.com
