I've flown something like 100k miles since 9/11. I'm over it. The clown on his mobile phone, ther soccer mom in the Denali, or some old lady with Coke bottle glasses is a bigger threat.

CMcMahon 08-17-06 05:48 PM

Seriously.

How many people died in 9/11? 2800?

How many fatal car accidents happen in the US every year? Oh, that's right: more than 35,000.

Believe it or not, planes are actually safer than cars... think about it, many less objects to fly into at 3,500 feet up.

MadMan2k 08-17-06 05:54 PM

I kind of like flying because getting places so fast is awesome, but it's expensive...

dooley 08-17-06 06:21 PM

seriously, this has nothing to do with where the frame was made, and everything to do with how it was made.
and fwiw, i think that the sunday frame is almost certainly the most advanced frame on the market today, jim c did his ****ing research with that thing. and I know beerman will hate me for saying so, but I genuinely think it's better made than anything S&M are doing. the amount of s&ms I've seen which are welded on the cock is untrue.

frame building is a complicated business, seamless or rolled tubes(see t1 for an example of rolled tubes), back purging, how precisely it's mitred, gusset design, heat treating, all have an affect on the final product.

CMcMahon 08-17-06 06:26 PM

I can't think of any S&M frames which are designed for the sort of abuse (Fat Mike Hoder, anyone?) that the Sunday! is tailored for. That being said, I won't disagree with you: it's definitely a progressive step for BMX frames. I can't say that any of the three S&M frames I've had (or the four pairs of bars, for that matter) have been poorly made, though.

dooley 08-17-06 06:34 PM

none of mine have been ****ed up either, I still have my oversize dirtbike and it's definitely one of the top ten frames ever.

And now there are snakes on planes!

I'm going to a Snakes on a Party tonight.

Prozakk 08-18-06 01:11 PM

I've been in 22 automobile accidents. I KNOW they aren't safer than planes.

The Sunday! frame is IMO is the ultimately designed frame.

eightdip 08-18-06 04:58 PM

you are the only person i know who calls them 'automobiles'

I think the fact that he's been in 22 is a bigger issue.

MUCH.

Now don't mistake this as me being a bad driver. More than 1/2 of them I was a passenger. Only 1 was I the fault...and then, only partial...both drivers got tickets.

You must be bad luck.
