Cone Washers/ Crank Spacers.

My crank arm is moving even though its tightened all the way.(Kind of like the spindle is stripped...) My friend said it's because I didnt have any spacers. If I got them would it keep my crank arm for moving?

All the spacers do is keep you BB tight.

And keep your crank arms from moving around, and hitting the chainstays...

the pinch bolts are as tight as I can get them but.... the arm moves up and down like they're loose.

Your bike is farked.

One of my friends had the same problem... I think all he did was just take the cranks off and regrease them and put everything back together again. Good to go.

If its slipping, how would grease help?

FitRider 921 09-16-06 07:31 PM

The main thing was taking it apart and putting it back together... I remember him doing something with the grease but it was probably just wiping most of it off- I think he had too much on it. My apologies.

Alright that makes more sense. I'll try that.

It doesnt look as promising as your freinds bike may have been.

The bearings are showing, and that may mean your dust cap and all that crap have broken and there are bearings missing...

Get a new BB, and have it installed by a bikeshop, itll be smooth.

Chris Gabriel 09-17-06 08:55 AM

My bearings aren't showing...they aren't sealed.....and a new bb wouldn't help since its my arm and spinde that are being messed up.
