Square tube BMX frame

About 15 years ago one of my best friends got an aluminum BMX frame that had square tubing. Well, square cross section, the tubing was rectangular. Anyway, it had PK Ripper stickers on it, but every pk ripper i've seen has floval tubing. Anyone know of a late 80s bmx frame made from rectangular tubing? It was bright purple if that helps at all.

Google image it?

sivat 09-30-06 03:02 PM

That would be easier if i knew what to look for.

FitRider 921 09-30-06 04:12 PM

If you don't know what to look for, how are we supposed to know what to look for?

An 80s BMX frame with rectangular tubing. Man, you aren't the quickest guys in the world are you?

Or sharpest tool in the shed.

By the way, "she was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb in the shape of an "L" on her forehead."

I think the guy was more interested in finding somebody who already knew something about what he was describing rather than as someone to google a picture for him....

90% of the poeple in this forum are 17 and under. no ones gonna know anything about a late 80's bmx based on the fact that it was aluminum (as were all frames at that time...i think), and it has square tubing.

KinetikBiker 10-01-06 03:39 PM

Bulldogs frame has a squareish rear triagnle tubing thing going on , but thats a newer frame.
And speaking of odd tubing on frames, did anyone see the Sunday frames with the riged or whatever downtubes?

FitRider 921 10-01-06 03:41 PM

Yes. It looks really weird. But I think it is brilliant... no dents.

Im sure its still dentable.
If thats a word.
Its just alot harder.

FitRider 921 10-01-06 03:59 PM

Yeah, everything has to break under a specific amount of stress... but it'll just probably be very hard to dent. I want to see one in person though.

premiumbmx2005 10-01-06 07:36 PM

Most frames were still steel in the late 80's.

Maybe if he described in detail which tube were rectangle, that would help. Many race bikes today have boxed rear triangles.

And those Bulldog frames, but they also make race frames too, so your even more right? Ha.

Scottyt 10-12-06 06:11 PM

Hawk made a frame with square tubes, kinda pk ripperish.

A long way. I'm in smithtown which is on long island which is quite a ways away from buffalo.

Texas Pista 07-11-14 04:19 AM

You're answer is Hawk. They had a purple frame too. One of if not my favorite bmx racing bikes.
