KMC 410H chain problems

KMC 410H chain problems
i got the chain in the mail today, cut off the extra and put it on my bike. i turn the cranks backwards with my hand and it starts making the loud popping sound every 2-3 links or so at the freewheel. i creep the wheel forward a hair and try again thinking it just wasnt lined up rigt but the sound continues. im running an odyssey 13t freewheel. the teeth look like they're fitting into the chain snuggly so it shouldnt be because the teeth or too wide or whatever(they're both 1/8").
has anyone had this problem? i might use a dremel tool to shave the sides of the teeth on the freewheel and see if that helps. any ideas?

Don't do that, just loosen your chain a bit, you're probabaly running it to tight.

Check the sprocket teeth. Might have some bent ones. If they are bent, grab an adjustable wrench and bend them back straight.

You could always take it the shop and have them look at it if you can't figure it out...

chain is not too tight, i have a little more than 3/4" travel up and down at the peak if i push/pull on it. teeth on freewheel are perfectly straight and sprocket is straight enough(slightly bent but not nearly enough to matter). chain brand new and links pivot freely so lubing isnt the problem. its acting like the wheel/freewheel isnt lined up right with the chainwheel but it perfectly straight. ive never had this problem before. the bike shop closed before i could go today but ill go tommorow. it feels so weird taking my bike to have someone else work on it
