There are way too many things wrong with that bike.

wethepeople 03-21-07 04:08 PM

Not if he enjoys it.

FitRider 921 03-21-07 04:12 PM

I was implying to in terms of trends and today's standards.

wethepeople 03-21-07 04:15 PM

Instead of big bars he has big dropouts.

We are still awaiting your bike check...

This thing better be dialed for all the crap you give everyone else.

Haha. Any sign of the big bar trend diminishing and going back to little bars?

I haven't done much with my bike at all.

Just because I criticize other people's bikes doesn't mean mine is great. My bike is still mostly stock, although when I get back on it there should be a few upgrades coming, such as pedals and maybe seat/post/clamp.

I give it a few more months. But the thing is...most people get the big bars for the trends, like me (i'm not going to lie) and then realize how much better they are on your back and just in general. I actually like taller bars and i have pretty wide shoulders so they pretty much fit me. But tiny kids getting Slams and not being able to control their bikes is hilarious.

Well we are all awaiting this bike check.

I haven't ridden bars bigger than like 25" on a BMX, but the wide ones on my mountain bike aren't comfortable to me. I have mine cut a little too short, though, going to get new ones sometime this year.

It's all about how broad your shoulders are. If you stick your arms straight out wherever they rest should be where you comfortably grip your bars. And the smallest you should cut them. At least that's my opinion. Mine go to the middle of my Slams.

eightdip 03-22-07 01:18 PM

Wide Mtb bars don't feel right. Wide bmx bars do.

I bought my beringers cheap off ebay and thats why I joined the trend. I needed bars

wethepeople 03-22-07 01:32 PM

The bars on my mtb are around 30", nice and wide for DH.

eightdip 03-22-07 01:48 PM

Oh for DH its good, not for hardtail

wethepeople 03-22-07 05:28 PM

Might be picking this up soon:

mude 03-22-07 06:09 PM

is that wood?

wethepeople 03-22-07 06:20 PM

Aluminum?

MadMan2k 03-22-07 06:54 PM

It's hideous, that's what it is.

FitRider 921 03-22-07 07:54 PM

It's weird.

wethepeople 03-22-07 07:56 PM

It's a DH/Freeride hardtail, built to be as stiff as possible without snapping.
