Yeah, I think I'll have to send my parts to a friend too... but some of my friend's parents might tell my parents which wouldn't turn out so well.

Didn't happen to me

Also, after looking at the f2 today, probably more like 35lbs.

I've got an F3. I took the pegs and gyro off, and the stickers too (that saved at least 15 grams, maybe more?!?!). I will have to have a cable-stop welded on though, that will add back on the weight of the stickers probably. But then I can take off the front brake. It's around 30-32. Good enough for me to throw around the track and mess around in my neighborhood.

Just use a zip tie.

put it on a scale. 2 things you can do: cut the seatpost (better idea) and teh bars. Make it better by getting better. learn some tricks

Wow. I don't think I could answer this question nicely... so I will just stop before I do something I'll regret.

Powercoating helps protect whatever your paint and such and is just a more durable coating for your parts. Chromoly is a type of metal....

Oh, by the way, just for anyone interested in metal strength, 7005 alumium is literally nearly twice as strong (and it's lighter) than 6061 aluminum. These metals are found in rims, and I looked up the properties today and truly was astonished. Forget about a hazard light, i'm getting a primo balance 7005.

MadMan2k 01-05-07 09:31 PM

Is that strength under static load, impact strength, how much it gives before it cracks, how much strength it keeps after it's cracked, what? 'strong' doesn't mean much.

I believe it's impact strength but I'm not quite sure. It was stronger in all regards of the metal. I'll see if I can find it again. I found it while playing around with good ole Cha Cha.

Powder Coat is basically very durable paint.

Except it's not paint. It's plastic. That's in a powder form. And melted. And electrically charged.

Well you learn something new every day

BMX1992 01-06-07 08:48 PM

hey this off topic but...how can i clean my rusted pegs, i just got them and they already hav bits of rust on them!

premiumbmx2005 01-06-07 08:51 PM

use them...no matter what theyre going to rust

dont worry about it

KinetikBiker 01-06-07 08:51 PM

Everyone else lied.
The best way to make your Haro light is to drill holes in the headtube, bb and shave your dropouts down. Take off your brakes, cut your seatpost and slam it, and take of your valve caps, get some carbon fiber headset spacers and put helium in your tires. Take off your grips too, those are heavy.

premiumbmx2005 01-06-07 08:52 PM

...i wonder if filling your tires w/ helium would make it lighter?

im so gay

BMX1992 01-06-07 09:24 PM

where should i get some heluim?

wethepeople 01-06-07 09:26 PM

A clown.

True story. Oh yeah, by the way, putting helium in your tires would not save very much weight at all. I saw the stats on it one time, and it was maybe a few grams different from air, if that.

premiumbmx2005 01-06-07 10:51 PM

im so doing that...just to say i did it
