Conduct regarding new members

OK, we're all pretty much in the habit of giving new members a hard time here, and you've probably all realized there aren't too many of them that stick around. I think it's time we started being a little more civil to the ones who ask valid questions, and not resort to name-calling or other unprovoked baiting/flaming.

Not really going to name names here, but you know if you've done it.

And to the new members, here's a little hint if you want to gain some respect: Type in english. IM-talk makes you look like an idiot, so if you're looking to start an argument with some random people on the internet who you don't know, it's a good idea. If you're looking for a real answer to a question, it's not so much. It's been said plenty of times, but there's kind of a reason for that.

This is locked because if you want to argue it, PM me or just keep fighting with newbies and earn yourself a vacation, and if you want to agree and say that you'll give it a shot, actually do it instead of just saying you will.

Word! You forgot to mention the 3 strikes rule that we've been pretty generous about. We'll warn you when you're out of bounds, but with the 3rd warning, you'll get banned from the forums. Somewhere between 48 hours and 48 years. Oh, if you're really obnoxious, we don't bother with the warnings, we just ban you.

So try to get along, the forums are here for everyone.
