Seshin Megatron

*** SCROLL DOWN FOR NEW PHOTOS***

Just built this up on New Years Eve:

Its a Seshin Megatron, with a 21.5" top tube, 13.65" rear end, 74.5° HT. Black Pearl with 8 clear coats.

I threw it together with most of the parts from my blue Macneil. Argyle Dirt Forks, FSA Orbit headset, Animal Stem, Macneil 9-Butted bars, 14mm Hazard hubs, 48H Hazard lite wheels, 33/12 LSD gearing, Fly Suelo brakes etc.

So far It feels REALLY responsive compared to my old frame, which was slightly bigger overall.
Its going to take a few good sessions to adapt to this short rear end though.

I absolutely cannot wait to take this thing to the skatepark to see how it feels.

Argyle forks? Suelo Brake?

lyledriver 01-02-07 12:02 PM

I painted the Argyle on my Dirt forks last year, when they were on a blue bike. Not sure what I'll do with this new black colour scheme..

...and Fly's Suelo brake is their non-angled front brake. Still forged/machined lightweight goodness.

Looks sooo good. I like the little bit of blue.

I like the frame. Nice, cheap, and good.

Did you pre-order the Seshin? Seeing they just released them.

lyledriver 01-02-07 03:44 PM

Yep. I've been waiting for a decent 21.5" frame for a while. They sold out of Ligers a while back, so I got one of the first Megatrons.

Can't say i've ever heard of Seshin. We don't get them over here

You don't really get them anywhere... only from their website.

premiumbmx2005 01-02-07 04:41 PM

that looks so good. the only thing i dont like is the blue and the seat clamp. dialed though

FitRider 921 01-02-07 04:46 PM

I like the blue, but the seatclamp does stick out a little bit.

eightdip 01-02-07 05:28 PM

Don't forget the seat, what is that thing?

lyledriver 01-02-07 05:37 PM

Seat clamp sticks out a bit? I'll buy a new one when this one strips.

..the saddle is an old hard foam Specialized MTB model. Its a bit ripped, but the rails are still straight.

Edit: Just picked up a brand new Odyssey Sr. Kevlar, for $15!!! It looks tiny compared to the old one.

premiumbmx2005 01-02-07 05:48 PM

seat looks fine to me. Yeah, just get a low-profile clamp. My premium clamps pretty good; it has a steel insert so it will never strip.

I didn't even notice the seat. I want the shadow clamp... it looks cool.

premiumbmx2005 01-02-07 06:04 PM

i actually like that seat a lot

Punx 01-02-07 08:00 PM

Order away...they have some nice hubs too.

lyledriver 01-05-07 09:44 AM

Okay, so I replaced the big Specialized saddle with the Ody Sr.
However, it looked really out of place when run so high (ass hatchet anyone?).. so I had to lower it.

Made by Fly i beleive. For flatland or to be used in the front, but they make good rear seatstay brakes (well now Fly has come out with a seat stay design of their brakes)

EDIT: Nice bike, but i don't like those seats they look funny and are uncomfortable.
Also, USE MY BIKE CHECK STICKY THREAD next time :)

premiumbmx2005 01-05-07 11:44 AM

i love my senior seat

What do you mean?
Its brand new.
Not a scuff on it, and the rails still had black paint on them.

Are you referring to the excess material stapled under the nose of the saddle?
