YeeeAH!

I'm 13 so i can post in this forum again. So after the week i couldn't post, ill tell you the story. Ok on Saturday i dropped my bike of at my Local Bike Shop and they said they needed to rebuild the bottom bracket because it was alligned wrong and i didnt wan't to do that..i would probably screw up my bike. That was only $12, then they took off all my gyro parts for $6 and put a big spacer above my headset which is really nice too. Then where my cranks were they put like 1 spacer on each side and said i may need another, so i can just bring it back. Yea, so today's my b-day and im trying to decide if i should buy some brakes for it or just leave it brakeless. Also if you guys reccomend brakes, which u/v brakes? I really like the little oddesey lever, for like $15 on Dan's Comp. Also do the cables matter also like big difference? So can you guys reccomend like the u/v brakes, the lever but i like the small ones, and a cable, i've been looking at dan's comp. My limit is about $50. Thank You!

Edit: Also when i was at my local skatepark i was talking to this guy and he say he could give me some 3 piece redline cranks and some of these haro petals since im missing one for $10 for both. So im going to check them out later today. I think thats a good deal.

Also if you could check what model and year my bike is, i would be very happy! Here is where you can see all the pictures. All i know is it is a haro. https://flickr.com/photos/60115430@N00/

Thank You!

Pantelis

You're going to need U-brakes, not V-brakes. Just get whatever is cheap and/or looks good.

Get an Odyssey U brake with an odyssey lever if you like them. Get an Odyssey Linear Slick cable aswell, the slightly more expensive one remember because the cheap one is rubbish.

Not sure on the cranks but check the condish before you get them. Aswell as the pedals, its all your choice

Oh and Happy Birthday

I agree with the above.

And if they are Redline cranks, they SHOULD be 401 Flight cranks. Meaning unless they are beat to hell...it is a steal for 10$

They are probly redline monster cranks. I dout they'd be flights. But it's still a steal if they are in good working condition.

Nahhhh save your shoes and your neck. Get some Odyssey brakes. The Odyssey levers are good and everyone else will say Tech 77's so either is fine...

Just buy the brakes, and try them. If you don't like them, at least you have them for later. But you wont be able to ride many sets of trails without brakes(especially rhythm section, big doubles, or any technical trails with berms and rollers...). Unless your name is Alex Dropsy, which it's not.

You may decide to go brakeless later but never start off brakeless because you are just closing doors or making them harder to open if you get what i mean

Agreed. Again. Start with brakes and see if you like them. After you get used to your bike and everything, try taking them off. It will feel weird and scary at first, but ride like that for a few days and see what you think. I love the feeling of being brakeless, so I will probably take my brakes off when I ride again.

Hey do i need pads or does the Oddysey Evolver come with them. All together for the Oddysey Evolver U-Brake, The Diatech Goldfinger Lever (is the goldfinger good or should i go with a oddysey monolever for $16 and the goldfinger is $15?) and then the Oddysey Linear Cable. It all comes out to like $53-$54? So my question is the goldfinger or monolever. Also i figured out what type of bike i have its a 2003 Haro Nyquist R1.

Evolver's come with pads. Get a monolever or Tech 77 they are the best. Goldfingers aren't very nice.
