I'm old so forgive me....

I don't get it. I can't understand how anybody can ride a bike that you can't sit down on. And when you do sit down on it you can't pedal efficiently. Anybody want to try to explain the history of the development of the BMX bike? https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Basically, no-one sits down when riding a bmx. That is not what they are made for. The only time people sit down on them is when they are waiting to drop into a ramp for example.

That is not true. I can't even count the BMX bikes I see ridin' around with kids dressed all goth-like. They have to hold their head up or their knees pop them in the jaw. Weirdest thing I see, ridin' all slow pedaling to beat the band and only going maybe 5 mph. AND holding a basketball or a skateboard.

Times are changing. Scoliosis is the new trend.

The seats are low because we don't ride them long distances. That's not the point of riding a BMX bike, like it is with an XC mountain bike or road bike. The point is to have the geometry and everything ideal for doing tricks and riding on obstacles or whatever, which you can't really do sitting down.

I was sposed to go to a chiropracter 3 times a week for 18 moths but i thought it was wasting too much time and after like 3 months i was feeling better so i quit. Now it hurts again so once i pt my car on the road I'm going to need to start going again.

Well then again it aint scoliosis, but I imagine It must feel similar.

I used to go 3 times a week coz my scoliosis and now its down to like once a month, I guess it is kinda worth waiting for, I'm finally not in constant back pain. either do what the chiro says, or just don't go

Most of your docters sound stupid considering this broken leg of yours is taking longer then anyone else i know that's broken something. I've had at least 3 friends break bones and stuff in the time you've been out. Sounds like you got the short end of the stick, or in this case docters with knowledge.

I just broke my leg really badly... not really the doctor's fault with that. I'd blame my bike, but it got a pretty bad beating from my fall.

Isn't the seat only low down when you are either riding vert or dirt cause when ever i see people riding flatland there seats are usually as high as they go

It's all personal preference. Generally flatlanders like higher seats so they can sit and grab them easier on certain tricks.

Vert riders tend to have higher seats as well.

I like mine about 2 inches out and up at a bit of an angle so i can grab it easier on tobaggans and stuff. Word.

have u ever tried to bunny hop higher then a foot on a mountain bike. not the easiest thing. bmx is made to do that stuff. i dont think u can spin to great on them either. u just dont use it for transportation, its for getting yourself killed like the dumb ass that went to slow and didnt clear the gap.
hahahahaha
that was sick!

Lets see you try, then when your useless crippled body is laying there we can make fun of you for trying.
