volume sledgehammer?

Hey everyone I have been out of the bmx game for a few years and have noticed many of the old names have been sold to south east asia and a garbage. So I have a few questionsI am looking into a cruiser I can use for some dirt jumping and maybe even some park riding I am a big guy 6'4" and I weight about 220lbs I am kinda liking what I see in the sledgehammer I am just wondering if there is a 26" or a 24" that is better suited for my uses urban assault/ dirt

Thanks...

Yes, go with that. The Dk general lee wouldn't be a bad, cheaper alternative though.

They went overseas but they're still decent.

Go with the General Lee 24" then use the extra money you saved to upgrade it.

DK may have gone overseas, but the Volume ain't exactly "made in USA" either. If you're looking for a cruiser to do DJ/Park riding, I'd go with the DK over the Volume. DK has a 100% 4130 chromoly frame vs. Volume's High tensile steel. Plus the Volume is more a "just cruisin'" ride.
Personally, if I were getting a 24" to hit up skateparks - I'd go for the We The People United 24"
Or look at the MirraCo 24".

There was a really nice MirraCo bike at the bike shop today for $1000. I didn't ride it though, maybe next time.

I rode the se om flyer today it is surprisingly nice for a fuji bike I like the geometry and the feel of the bike better than the volume I need to find me a general lee local so I can test ride it

I like the way the om looks It looks like my old pk ripper from when I was 12

I would ride an Eastern before i rode a MirraCo.

Their frames seem ok, except for the Ti grim.

Too bad i'll probly never need a new frame cause my Solid is perfect and strong.

Keep in mind the OM Flyer is Aluminum. Not the best choice for a frame you plan on doing some thrashing with. I'd recommend looking into a 4130 Chromoly 24". There you have really 4 choices. The WTP United, The DK General Lee, The MirraCo 20Forty, and the Shadow Conspiracy I:M.
My first choice in that list would be the WTP. It may be tricky to find, but any shop with a TIP Dist. account can get one. My second choice would be the Shadow. Again, may be trickey to find. They were made in a limited run of around 300. But they ride nicely.
As far as I'm concerned - it's a toss up between the DK & the Mirra.
Again, this is just my personal opinon. In realty, I'll stick with my 20" I'm 36, 6', 190 lbs. My 21"tt FBM works just fine.

Stick with the General Lee. Shadow doesn't make good parts. MirraCo is made by Trek, no good.

EDIT: wds let's see some pics of your FBM!

Also, you could build up a custom S&M cruiser. That would be awesome.

I'd argue that the parts on the Shadow I:M are better than the parts on theDK Gen Lee. Again - personal opinion.
Also MirraCo is Distributed by Trek. There's a difference there. For all we know, MirraCo is made in the same Taiwan factory as DK!
Really though, check out the WTP United 24" It's a solid Park cruiser.
A Custom S&M would be hot though - no argument there. I own a early 90's S&M Widowmaker cruiser. Rides really nice.
Also, if you want to go the custom route, I forgot about Fireman's Texas Cruisers. They do real nice 26" cruisers.
As for my FBM, I'll try. Never posted a pic here.

I think I would too... although I doubt I could really crack a frame, unless it is at the chainstays.
