no. how do you think those skateboarders do it? they dont have pins. plus, you wouldnot imagine how grippy new grip tape is

No, it works fine. I know people that have done it. You just have to replace the tape every once in a while.

and no pesky pins to dig in your shin. that reminds e, my friend had these old rusty beartraps on his bike, his lg hit the ground and when his pedal came back it dug in his leg. he had to get a tetnus shot
