Cassettes have drivers that have the teeth and stuff on them and it's all one piece, and freewheels are the older kind. You need a cassette to go smaller than 13t, I think, so most nicer new bikes have cassettes.

Freewheels *might* last longer, but if you need a small cog then you'd have to get a cassette.

I think they might take longer to build than to break.

I've heard bad things about Dans and building wheels. A few of the guys here have had rims with hops in them and my friend's wheels from Dans have all fallen apart after only a short period of time on them (although most wheels do need the spokes tightened shortly after getting them, they should still hold up for a while). If I were you, I would get them made from Empire.

go with the mx-22 over the other rims... and why do you want to buy such crappy wheels anyway? you are probably going to destroy the things in a pretty short amount of time.

well, if you've got some extra cash to spend, just go for it... or you could just save that money and use it to buy one good (front) wheel. I'm not too sketchy either, but crappy rims don't last so long, no matter how smooth you are.

whatever floats your boat. if you are looking for a front wheel for under $100, go for the mosh- it's supposed to be somewhat good.

I have Ti spokes on my rear wheel, it's holding up fine.
Also, I'm running a pretty ****ty front wheel. Primo Bomb laced to a MX-22, it's holding up pretty good to, so I haven't replaced it yet either.
