You mean the distilled wisdom of the Classic & Vintage forum is not good enough?

I would assume they are all different process for heat treating or welding the metal. Or just different companys from different countrys. You also forgot to mention the best of them all 41 thermal, and SuperTherm and 4bake!

In addition to 4130, there is another hard-to-find CrMo called 4435.
The numbers are the percentages of Chrome and Molybdinium.
4130 is 4.1% Chrome and 3.0% Molybdinum.

There are two different spellings of Molybdinum, Molybdinium, depends on what side of the Atlantic your English is spoken.
Same goes for Aluminum, Aluminium.
4435 CroMo is an aircraft alloy, which ,IIRC, is used extensively in the Air Force's new F-22 Fighter Plane.
4435 is only slightly better than 4130. A bicycle alloy known as Columbus SL is was better than either.

No, I don't have them saved, I just ran a search for "Reynolds" restricted to C & V...that's not even half of them.

possibly. I need to see if my faulty charger decided to charge my battery.
EDIT: My house has no cereal at the moment. I'm in desperate need of Cap'n Crunch.
