New bike
Well i recently got a job again and since i got out off rehab a little more than a month ago i needed a sport or activity to start doing to stay away from drugs. I decided to start biking but just recently i got a job and started to spend all my money on cocaine and bud again. I really dont want to start this **** up again so i decided im gonna build a bike, and im comming to you to see if i should use these parts or if there is anything better. Money is not a matter I need to spend every cent i get right away or i might go back to my old ways. So here is the list of parts im gonna get. Please give me your opinion on if these are good to buy or if there is anything better, and i will prolly never buy another bike after this so it has to be good and be able to take alot of abuse.

No idea on the wheels, stay away from eastern, Ody, sunday or macneil I.d forks are better, get the cranks in 175 mm, shadow interlock is not a good chain, get a KHE collapse, dirty harry lever is horrible, Tech 77 all the way, the rest is great though! Dk chain tensioners aren't meant to work with pegs if you ever thing of running pegs, just a warning

Those wheels are for racing and probably wouldn't be such a good idea. Get some Sun Big City, Fly's, Odyssey 7KA, or Primo Balance rims. Make some custom wheels if you can spend as much money a you get. Primo Balance I think are good stock wheels. And 175 mm cranks would be a better idea.

If you have the money, shell out on Fly rims or G-sport Ribcage rims. Primo or profile rear cassete hub, g-sport marmoset front hub

I've had no problems with the Shadow chain so...
But I agree with the rest.
Also - you'll need a Mid BB, NOT a Spanish. And the Freestyle A-Headset Cap is unnecessary. Forks come with a preload bolt that does that.

He's saying go with Macneil, Odyssey or Sunday. I recommend Ody.
And you can probably get by without chain tensioners. I used to swear by them, but when I switched to a FBM frame, I found the ones I had didn't work with the small dropout that FBM uses. I've been running without tensioners now for the past 2 yrs w/ no probs.

I have chain tensioners and I can't figure out how to adjust them. I just had to do it the old-fashioned way and pull the wheel back and tighten the bolts.

If you have the odyssey PACT tensioner you can tighten the chain when the the axle is tight...

I thought I would just save money (rather than getting Slams and then Scerbos) and go for the bars I really want.

I've tried Scerbo's before and really liked them. I don't want to have to waste my money on two bars when I know I will most likely like the Scerbo's more.

Shadow is junk, except their cool clothes.
Primo makes the best chain tensioners. Poverty has good ones too believe it or not.
Odyssey, S&M, Sunday or Fit forks are best.
You'll kill those wheels.
Don't get heavy duty tubes, that's a waste.

heavy duty tubes don't matter the tire matters. I put a tube with holes and electrical tape in my ASM and it stayed for like a couple days.
