Total Recall

On the new vandero hubs!

They are all being recalled due to blowing up and injuring odyssey team riders

I don't see anything on the Odyssey site about them. But i do have a Vandero Race so i'll keep my ears open.

On another note, KC's whip looks nice:

His bike always looks so ****en good. Thats to bad about the hubs. **** happens though, not really their fault. And Kinetic, whats the difference between the vandero, and the race version. Just a hollow axle? And if so do you think it would stand up to mild peg use. I Mostly do feebles so that wont matter, some double pegs on low rails, or smooth handrails, and basically no smiths.

Ok I e-mailed odyssey and asked them if this was true. Nuno told me that it wasn't but to be honest he wouldn't want this stuff to leak out anyway. He said that they weren't built to specifications or something and most distributors had to take them back. Taiwanese you see

The Vandero Race has a shorter hollow 3/8" axle. That way it's lighter and will pass inspection at the race track without being cut. I would never run pegs on it since it's hollow, nor would i think you could even get a peg on there without having to run the bolt only half threaded on.

Just get the regular Vandero and trim the axle down a bit, since it comes really long.

Oh yeah, I forgot it was really short already. Well I've seen people run pegs hard with hollow and ti axles so i don't think it would really be a problem for me to run a hollow one.

I bet you'd kill it. One hard smith would do away with that axle. But if you have money, it may not be that bad since you could then just get a regular Vandero axle for it. They are computable, but only assuming you didn't trash the bearings when you bend the axle.

I don't smith really, and when I do I don't land hard, or do them on rough ledges. I'll just get the regular one though.
