Those are nice rims, my friend at the track has the same ones. And Intense Micro Knobbies are really good tires.

I put a front MTB hub (Deore XT)...

The bike is a recumbent lowracer. You don't usually see BMX parts on those, but in my area, the road surfaces are pretty bad and you get tons of pinch flats when you ride skinny ass tires.

They require a different kind of body balance... so, it depends how easily you can adapt from one style to the other...

There's a company that makes a recumbent trike... it's not as costly as the average road trike, but it's aimed at the BMX crowd. They've tried to make it as bomb-proof as possible for stunts and tricks...

Those rims are stupid, but those Intense tires are pretty kickass. They sound fast, like Bestwick riding vert or something.

It's just too bad that they're only 65psi max.

The rims are good, they just have a weird look. I'm not a fan of the holes, i feel like dirt and crap would be all up in there.

And yeah, those tires seem good. But i like my Odysseys.

Yea I thought about dirt in the holes, but it's nothing a little water and compressed air can't fix.

As for the tires, sure, they dont have the highest pressure, but they gobble up a lot of road vibration

I love fly rims, one of my friends has just got one on the wtp bolts hub

1) You can buy a stronger and lighter rim, without the holes, for about the same amount of money.
2) You are going to get all sorts of crap in there.

The fly rims are both strong and light, they are a good combination. The colours they come in are cool but i'm not getting one unless they lower the price. I wouldn't be bothered about the dirt, it would fall back out of the holes when you ride anyway

Just wondering, but does anyone on here actually use fly rims? Maybe we could find out if dirt and crap actually get inside the rim? Or maybe the GreenGrasshoppr will come back and give us an update.

These are both true. But i still think they are good rims. Just i wouldn't ride anything but a clean park with them cause i hate dirt in places where it doesn't belong. 7kA's for life.

I have come to the realization that your bike really doesn't have to be that light. I rode my friend's bike and his had a lot of the lightest parts and I hated it. The thing weighed probably around 24 pounds and I just didn't like it. You barely had to lean back to manual.

Manualing is hard when you are just learning. It sucks.
