A serious question here, BMX is pretty popular around where I live, and I see a lot of guys cruising around on their bikes, but when they pedal their knees are well above their waists at the top of the pedal stroke Don't you find that uncomfortable, or is it ok because you're only going relatively short distances (not implying that short distances are a bad thing )

You could have just right clicked it and went to properties...or just quoted me to see but oh well.

BMX bikes aren't meant to be 'ridden' the same way as a road bike. The rider often never sits down, or rarely sits down. If you watch some BMX videos you'll see what I mean.

Man, I am not that good ! Plus I think it would be good for elgalad to see what BMXers do, so I'm encouraging some video viewing .

Work with me, mude!

I try decades, all the god damned time.

And I always fail spectacularly.

I can sit down on a nearly completely slammed seat and it's still not uncomfy for me. Maybe I'm just short.

I don't know why anyone would ride a seat too low for their own liking or comfort. Mines about an inch high right now, and i'm never going any lower. I might even be getting a new seatpost, so i can raise her up a bit more.

I like being trendy. I like how my seat is... it's out of my way but not too low.

Mine is slammed, plus the seattube cut, and I'm 6' and can still ride it sitting down. My knees don't hit my chest, the frame is long enough. I alternate sitting down and standing up when I'm riding to somewhere, usually do most of the pedaling standing and then sit down to coast.

That sounds like a really smart thing to do!

How's the riding coming along?

Haha. I haven't been able to do much. I need to go back to the doctor so my mom gets everything clearly. I was supposed to start riding as of today.

Also, East Hill, I PM'd you a while back. I'm not sure if you got it.

Because I hate my seat getting in the way. I used to be a higher seat kind of guy but then I realised that no matter where your seat is, it won't be comfortable sitting down. So I slammed it and kept it out of the way. Who sits when they ride bmx anyway? Unless your're just coasting

When my seat is slammed, i can't do turndowns. My leg wont go under it, and my shoe will get caught on the edge of the seat/guts. Bad experience.
