hows the wheel?

KinetikBiker 06-23-07 07:14 AM

It's good. I put up a picture of it in the bike check thread. Runs really really smooth. It ended up being $325 altogether.

I'm also really happy at how hollow the 14mm axle is, because i kept toying with the idea to get a 3/8" but i wasn't sure.

Plus the clicking sound the driver makes, is amazing. :)

FitRider 921 06-23-07 08:47 AM

Getting a 3/8ths on the back just sounds like a bad idea, even though it had been done for ages. That's a lot of money for a wheel.

premiumbmx2005 06-23-07 09:52 AM

i forgot how much my wheel was but it was worth it

live4muzic2 06-23-07 10:07 AM

mine was 150 for the pair. sun city lites with odyssey hubs.

FitRider 921 06-23-07 11:06 AM

How'd you manage to do that?

MadMan2k 06-23-07 12:36 PM

Damn, that's almost as much as my bike was. Not that I wouldn't spend that much on a wheel if I had enough money, but still..

live4muzic2 06-23-07 01:43 PM

my dad has gotten 3 road bikes from there and we know everyone there. my dad has spent about 15,000$ there and they were on sale.

To be perfectly honest, i didn't need a new rim or spokes. I just had too much money, and went all out. I'm not too proud of it though. :o

cwt341 06-23-07 07:43 PM

well you know your proud of it everytime you get on that bike and how smooth it rides

gnr rocker 06-23-07 07:47 PM

untill, "THE DREADED PROFILE WOBBLE"

live4muzic2 06-23-07 07:48 PM

whats that

gnr rocker 06-23-07 07:53 PM

profile hjubs have a tendencey to wobble

live4muzic2 06-23-07 07:56 PM

thats sucks. i like the splatter profile hubs.

FitRider 921 06-23-07 08:07 PM

Profile hubs also tend to be quite wide. How does it fit?

gnr rocker 06-23-07 08:11 PM

they fixed that about 2 weeks aago

live4muzic2 06-23-07 09:35 PM

good

It fits perfect in my opinion, better spacing then my Shadow hub at least. I put those two gold washers that come with the hub on the inside of the dropouts, and it was a perfect fit, no crazy pinching or anything.

FitRider 921 06-24-07 07:49 AM

Sickness. You are one lucky man.

eightdip 06-24-07 02:01 PM

Looks really nice though, post the pic in this thread. My friend blew a profile hub. He must be pretty rough though as he's gone though a proper magnalite and a KHE geisha

callumrides 06-25-07 06:11 AM

i hope there was 2 TI upgrades. a driver and an axle.
i mean its a sweet wheel already.
but it could be double sweet.

Nah. Hollow 14mm cromo axle and cromo driver.
I didn't want to waste money.

gnr rocker 06-25-07 12:12 PM

hehe

callumrides 06-25-07 05:06 PM

its not a waste, TI driver sounds better to.

FitRider 921 06-25-07 11:46 PM

For the money it costs to upgrade to the Ti, it is considered a waste to many people. From looking at your bike, money does not seem to be so much of an issue to you.
